PCA-TVR 2022 Board of Directors Meeting 10/11/2023

Location: Temecula Brewing/Mad Mike’s

Attending 2023 Board Members: Victoria Varon, Beth Korkin, Tom Armstrong, Richard Wall

Absent: Jerry Konchar, Bill Connelly, Daniel Bello

Call to Order: 6:36 pm

President (Victoria):  

  • Volunteer Dinner – 11/18 –  conflicts for some, checking to see if 11/17 works as another option? Yes works for people at the meeting
  • Mystery Weekend Update – 10/28-29
    • 5 cars / 11 people
  • Cambria Markets Tour – 12/21-12/23
    • 2 nights – also tour to Paso Robles
  • Board Elections are coming!  Ballots will be out by the end of October, please vote.
    • Daniel Bello will vacate a board seat and we will have 1 open. Any suggestions for a new board member contact Victoria.

Secretary (Beth): 

  • Approve September Meeting minutes.

  • Swag Store Update
    • Will add a ‘Flex Hat’ to the swag store
    • We still have 4 more spots on the swag store list of products we can add too. Beth will look at what we have and possibly add to the list.

Items for sale in person: VR sun shield – $25 each, Clings $5 each. Please see Beth for sales.

Treasurer (Victoria for Jerry): 

  • All expenses are in and the Progressive Dinner was a break even event ($14.86 profit).
  •  We have received $2,025 for the Mystery Weekend and have had no expenses yet.
  • Current bank account balance – $18,515.88

Social (Victoria for Julie): 

  • First Tuesday Socials Coming Up
  •  11/7 at Margarita’s Cocina in Old Town
  •  12/5 at French Valley Café in Murrieta
  • Last First Tuesday Social was a hit.  Everyone had great things to say!

Membership (Victoria for Susan)

  • We have 2 new members (Michael Makasjian and Matt Richards).  
  •  Total membership is 182
  • All members whose memberships were expiring, renewed.
  • Palm Springs opened a region and we lost 12 people.  5 have since come back to us.

Name Tags Available: msreg.com/nametags – If you have already ordered name tags in the past, we need to manually order them for you.  Contact Susan and/or Victoria for re-orders.

Tours (Richard): 

Richard’s tours for us this month: 

  • Jeff running a drive/tour on 10/14 Sat to Spanish Landing
  •  For 10/21, Richard is out of town and needs someone to do a small drive after our Porsche & coffee – Paul will be doing this. Thanks PAul!
  •  Need to move to the end of month hump day drive from 10/25 to Wed 11/1.  Usual time 11-3 but destination TBD

 Review tentative itinerary for next June alp post cruise tour (6/7-6/18). Attatched. 

3 options:

  1. Cruise only
  2. Only do drive
  3. Doin it all … cruise and drive

Tentative Germany / Italy / Austria/ Alps Tour (June 7-18 2024)

Fri (6/7) arrival in Stuttgart

  • 2 nights at hotel ($100/night) walking distance to Porsche Museum; Friday welcome dinner ($60ea).
  • Rental car options (book on your own):
    • car rental at Stuttgart airport.  Rates vary (typically $50-$100 per day).
    • Porsche Drive rental next to the Porsche Museum. Rates vary $250-$400/day
  • B&B Hotel Stutthart-Zuffenhausen

Sun (6/9) Stuttgart to Morano, Italy (approx 280 miles)

  • Leave Stuttgart heading south to central alps, arriving in Moreno, south Tyrol, Italy.
  • 7 nights (6/9-6/16) at alpine adult only hotel.  includes 4 dinners (6/9,6/11,6/13, 6/15), $60-70 ea

Mon (6/10) to Sat (6/15) – driving in the Alps

  • Up to six days of various drives of historic mountain passes along Italy and Austria Alps (approx. 100-200 miles each)
    • 1 day to include a visit to Mezzacorona winery ($75 ea wine tasting & lunch)
    • 1 day to include a visit to Misurina for an alpine hike to 3 Cime and refugio restaurant for lunch ($80 ea includes mountain entry fee).

Sun (6/16) Merano to Salzburg, Austria (approx 220 miles)

  • Hotel in or near Salburg – TBD (assume $150-$200)

Mon (6/17) Salzburg to Stuttgart (approx 260 miles)

  • Arrive at Simple Hotel next to Stuttgart airport.  Farewell dinner nearby ($80 ea)
    • Premier Inn Stuttgart Airport ($80 / night)

Tues (6/18) Stuttgart airport for return flight to US
